I used to through the grint app and really enjoyed nerding out over my stats. But then I started feeling like being on my phone was really taking away from my outdoor experience. I sometimes wish I had that bit of statistical knowledge to improve my game, but I'd much rather "disconnect" to more fully enjoy my rounds/time outside.

Agreed, I used the grint but found that I was way too into it. It started to take away from the actual experience of golfing. I deleted the app and turn my phone off while I golf.

I guess if I played more competitively then I would keep track, but I'm just a hacker addicted to Titleist.

Only tracking I do is with my GHIN#.

If I play an 18 hole round by myself, then I do keep the stats. Otherwise no.

Use GHIN for the rounds count. I do make notes during the round on the scorecard for fairways hit, GIR and putts. A quick look after the round tells me where I could use some work.

I track it on my score card and will look at fairways, greens and putts but then do nothing with it. I have a few apps that I should put the information into, but I don't.

As for number of rounds, like Dr. K. my GHIN# tells me how many I've played (this year wasn't very many).

I use the arccos system with my clubs, so I start the round on the app at the beginning and only check again after I am done and loading my clubs on the car, it is mostly fairly easy to use, I have had issues on the past were it stopped tracking at some point during the round, however those were very few times, the only thing I need to remember is to keep my phone on my pocket at all times and to make sure that at the gimme puts I did properly address the ball. It is great to use and does not take my attention from the round itself.

I just purchased the Arccos caddie and link. I'll let you know what I think after the snow melts.

I also only track through my USGA handicap. 7-8 years ago I played to a 1. Now I fluctuate between 3-4. The difference is 1 stroke per round on my annual average of scores entered. That's as far as I take the analysis.

Coming off the course, I know my round was higher because I had 3-4 three putts, or I drove the ball poorly, or missed ob approach shots, etc.. Those are instinctive things we all know as we make our way around the course and add up our scores at the 19th hole.

I don’t think I want to keep track, if I did I think I may well jump off the nearest bridge.‍♂️

I'll keep GIR and putts tabulated on the scorecard. That way it reminds me that when I hit 15 greens and shoot 75, what a lousy putter I really am...

I keep score when my wife and I play. I write the score then a dot for fairway hit and dashes for putts. Walking off the green my better half might say "Fifty-two dot" or "Sixty-one right" and I know she had a 5 with 2 putts and a fairway hit or a 6 with a single putt and right off the fairway. One of the more disappointing scores is a "Forty-three"...which we call a Richard Petty!

I have 7 years of stats. Fairways hit, Fairways missed & what side, Putts, Greens, Up/Dn & score, birdies, pars, bogey's, doubles, triples & other....... don't worry about sand shots.

I know exactly how bad I am at golf, I leave nothing to the imagination LOL.

I love numbers & they can be very useful for improving your game

7 years of stats is quite the commitment man! wow. I wouldn't be able to do it. I can definitely see how that much data could help lead to better practice and what not.

The rounds that I play alone I tend to track gir, fir, and putts but that's it.

When I'm playing badly, I'll start keeping track of my on course stats and try to figure out where the main cause of my problems might be, but I don't keep anything long term.

I keep track of most of my rounds using an app. I use to do it while I played, but do it after the round in the parking lot most of the time.
I keep track of fairways, greens. putts, chips. pitches. fairway bunkers and greenside bunkers.

Been tracking every hole and pretty much every shot for the past 11 years. Started on Oobgolf back in 2009, then moved to SkyGolf, then Grint. However, I keep my stats during the round in pencil, on my scorecard. I spend no time on my phone during a round. I transcribe and enter everything on the computer later on. I have a system that works great. Fairways hit, greens in reg, putts, approach shots, up and downs, sand saves, yada, yada, yada. I write notes about every round as well.

In addition to tracking many different stats (more than mentioned here), I also keep track of every round I play, as well as every day I spend practicing golf shots out on the course when not actually playing a full round. Additionally, I even track my pure practice days.

This year, as the weather starts to go downhill, I am presently at 177 rounds in 2019 along with over 50 days of just practice work. I sometimes practice on days I play, but I don't count those days as practice days. I'm hoping I can get another 15-20 rounds in before the weather gets totally unplayable. A dusting of snow expected tomorrow.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about the shotscope watch. It basically keeps track of everything for you and you can review it at the end of the round. The watch also gives you distances to the front middle and back of the green and hazards too

Fairways, GIR and putts during the round. Usually keep the scorecards for the last 3 rounds to see where there might be a trend and what needs work.

Been keeping stats for years. Courses, rounds, pars, birdies, bogies, putts, fairways hit, GIR, par saves, etc.

I post scores to GHIN, but that’s it. I’m trying to keep things simple. The only other thing I track is birdies on my home course.
