We recently heard about an amazing Hole-In-One story from Will Loggins, Titleist Sales Representative for our Arkansas territory. Will informed us that something very rare had happened on January 20th at Centennial Valley Golf & Country Club in Conway, AR.

Tony Palmer and David Spear were playing in a foursome along with their friends, Greg West and Bud Ferguson. When they came to the 154-yard 14th hole at Centennial Valley, Tony teed up his Titleist Pro V1, struck a solid iron shot and the group let out a collective roar when they watched Tony's ball disappear into the cup.

Will later asked Tony what his first thought was after the ace.

"I won this hole," Tony said.

Tony's victory was short-lived, though. Once the jubilation had subsided, David stepped between the tee markers and teed up his Titleist NXT Tour. He took a few practice swings with his 24° Titleist 816H1 hybrid and launched his ball green-ward.

The ball landed a few feet short, took one large hop and then rolled straight for the cup. According to Greg West, when David's golf ball also found the bottom of the cup, the group erupted into "a Phil M., Masters-type leap" and another round of high-5's.

"And I promise you", added Greg, "no one's vertical was over 5 inches."

After learning about the feat from Centennial Valley's Head Professional, Mike Smith, Will contacted the National Hole-In-One-Registry. They informed Will that they've calculated the odds of two players from the same foursome acing the same hole as 17 million to 1!

Or as David pointed out, just about the longest odds ever to halve a hole.

"Because Tony and I tied, we did not get paid for our greenies. But I can certainly live with that. I have been playing this game for 43 years and I thought I was never going to make one."

    Congratulations to Tony and David!

What a cool story. Congratulations to both Tony and David. 2 years ago in our Member-Guest we had the same thing happen - back-to-back Aces on consecutive swings. A tough way to halve a hole, but an excellent story to tell for the rest of your life.
