  1. Hi guys, I am in need of some help. I am looking to replace my putter of 20+ years. It is way too short and I am re-acclimating to a properly fitted putter and my stroke. Last week I was with the local fitter for some irons and we hit some putts, but I am left handed and he only had the Newport and phantom 12.5. He suggested the Newport 34 inch based on how I was putting. I am more of a blade mallet head guy visually. So I just tried the Del Mar at a local golf shop but they did not have the Newport to compare at the same time. I am struggling making a decision as they both seemed ok. Is there any large difference? I was doing research and the del mar seems to have a little more toe flow. I am stuck and would love some help or advice. Thanks

  2. Ultimately it depends on your eye and stroke...what looks better and do you put straight back and forth or open to close arch? If arch Del Mar, if straight back then Newport blade. Best of luck, both are amazing flatsticks.

Huge difference in those 2 models. Del Mar is a half mallet with maximum toe flow. The Newport is a blade with a plumbers neck and medium toe flow.

I went to Scotty's gallery in Encinitas back in March for a fitting. I was using the Newport 2 at the time. After a 2.5 hour fitting I came away with the Del Mar, I really like that putter, the max toe flow really seem to help my putting stroke. This is the first putter I've owned that wasn't a blade putter. I will finally get it in couple of weeks now that his custom shop has reopened after the long shutdown.

Tried the Newport models and The Delmar! No question with my arc stroke, Delmar!!!! It replaced my GoLo 3. It was a good choice and purchase.

I personally use the Del Mar. I love the look, but it is up to you. Just find the look and feel that will inspire the most confidence and lead to more putts finding the bottom of the cup!

Yah, those are way different putters as everyone has said
I love the look of the Del Mar style putters, but my stroke can't handle it
roll em both and see what works for you first
