    Hi,

Whilst in isolation, my only practice option has been putting and whilst doing this, I’ve dug out an old Squareback putter. The grip has the same finish as the current Matador and was a little dirty, so I tried to clean it. However, the surface simply rubbed off! It has just sat in a bag with other spare clubs in my flat. I then tried cleaning other grips, mainly Tour Velvets and they all came up ok. Do I simply resign myself to the fact that this type of grip is less durable, or is there anything that can be done to preserve them?

Yes, I will replace. Can’t have any Scotty having a sub-standard Grip!
It was just the durability of the grip I was concerned about.
I will think about the type of finish I choose for the replacement now. Whilst I like the soft feel of a new grip like the original it does discolour and deteriorate relatively quickly. I may look at something more durable as long as the weight is comparable and I like the feel.
