Cameron Smith, Australian professional golfer, and Titleist Tour Ambassador has done it again this weekend. His third Australian PGA Championship. He won back-to-back in 2017 and 2018. Congratulations to Cam (the mullet head) for excellent play in carrying the Titleist banner. Add that to his Open Championship win at St Andrews this year.

I don't know if was me or just the players who they had on the broadcast, but I saw a lot of Titleist pros out there. Also, I especially liked the polos they wore that had the Titleist brand on the sleeve...not something you see on the PGA Tour.

You will see the same thing watching Asian Tour events and even quite a few on the DP Tour. Seems that Titleist helps a large population of early professionals worldwide and only after they move high into the world rankings do they demand a large clothing, club, and ball contract that takes them away from Titleist. I think there would be even more young US PGA players with Titleist but a couple of the other manufacturers have really pushed their products into college programs. Once these kids are successful in college, they tend to stick with that same product until the big money pulls them away.

I agree completely, Abdon. I have noticed that for years. All the other tours, feature a lot of FJ apparel with the Titleist brand on the sleeve. It is all about who hands out the most money freely and some companies have much larger budgets. Titleist and FootJoy are known for carefully selecting their ambassadors. I can respect that. Kudos.

That was a fun one to watch, and Cam won with his "B" game as well.

Should have added that on the PGA tour, carefully note what shoes and balls most are playing. Titleist and FJ, as well as gloves.

As an independent contractor he has to do what is best of him, his family and their future. He can still play the Aussie tour with no restrictions. I really like the guy and his is definitely a great Ambassador for the Titleist Brand. Cam is a great player and can make it on any tour but the additional security can making play much easier. Tour players have to make a cut every week on Thursday and Friday. No cut no paycheck. The greener pastures are three day no cut tournaments and guaranteed money. No really a difficult choice. Golf is a tough business. Have a few ex-pros living in our area. Talked to Mike Bright and Tim Calgano who use to play on the PGA tour, that the costs to play on tour drives a lot of players away, if they are not cashing in on Sat/Sun and have good sponsors.
Money in the bank helps them focus on golf. Tim is now teaching golf and have not talked to Mike is a number of years but last I heard he was in the Insurance business, but still plays golf.

Love Cam, doesn't matter the tour. On LIV he's on air more which is nice. I expect him to contend in all the majors this year, especially Augusta!
