Rambo holed a 66-footer to seal the deal at Olympia Fields. This happened in the sudden match in the playoff after DJ had sunk a 44-foot putt for birdie on the 72nd hole to force a playoff.

It was as exciting as Collin Morikawa and Justin Thomas' back to back monster putts at Jack's Place.

Among other 'monster' putts, I recall Tiger's 15-footer at Torrey Pines in 2008, Phil's 20-footer to win his first Masters in 2004 and Poulter's 15-footer at Medinah in 2012.

The longest putt I've ever hold was a 38-footer (for par & uphill) on the 18th hole during a social round with a couple of friends, and it was absolutely thrilling. I can still remember how good it felt.

What has been the longest putt you have hold?

Do you think traditional and modern (apps) green books are giving players an extra edge? I consider myself to be 'old school'; I like to judge with my eyes or I am even keen on using aim point putting.

What are your thoughts on modern green books and aim point putting?

They were great putts by both, but it was hard to believe either went in since they were using the wrong ball in my opinion....

You can have all the help you can get, but you still have to make the stroke.
  4. What a putt!

Also, who was that other guy that made the playoff? Never heard of him ;) *cough* Brooks Koepka *Cough*

My longest was over 90 feet from the front edge of a large, par 3 green, through a center "valley," up onto the back highest level to the pin (which was about 4 paces off the back), and IN! For anyone who has ever played Oxford Greens in CT, the green on #2. It's huge. Actually, I have made many very long putts, but that is the longest I can remember. Unfortunately, it meant nothing at the time. I wasn't playing in a tournament. Just a friendly match against my buddy. The only real satisfaction I got was that he was not happy that he lost the hole on such a "lucky" putt. It wasn't lucky as far as I'm concerned. I planned it all out ahead of time (except for maybe the going in the hole part), but he'll never accept it.
  6. I don't remember my longest but one of them was during one of my career rounds, a curling, downhill 40 footer that probably wouldn't have stayed on the green if it hadn't hit the hole. Hey, everybody needs a little luck in this game.
I agree Diego, the green books slow the game down interminably. I realize it is their job and they are playing for their livelihood, but the ability to read greens is part of the game. What's next, fairway maps so they know where the sprinklers heads are?

    Lethbridge,

Longest putt I ever made as a 90 footer uphill for a birdie on one of the most despised holes on our course. It’s the 18th handicap so that lets everyone know how much fun it is. The putt was certainly a very luck stroke and a good thing the hole got in the way.

Best I have was a 35 footer during a work outing while my boss watched.

125 from the fairway during a hot summer month a few years ago, in which the fairway was hard and short. Think we are still laughing. Does it count that I putted off the green? Before I putted it I actually plumbobed it as a joke and said let me see if I can make this. You know what they say, things happen. That number has stuck in my head all this time. It was funny at the time.....and it was for an eagle.
