    Hi Team Titleist,

At the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide, Titleist is the #1 golf ball and #1 wedges being played at Muirfield Village GC. As I write this, Byeong Hun (Ben) An, is T12 and 4-under-par through the first two rounds. An plays a full setup of Titleist equipment, including the new SM7 Vokey Design Wedges.

We caught up with Vokey Tour Representative Aaron Dill to learn more about An's wedge lineup, which includes the F grind, S grind, K grind and a T grind (which is currently custom for Tour).

"Ben has been a great guy to work with, simple and appreciative, he makes my job easy," Dill said. "He has been very loyal to his specs, with very little changes have been made to his 48/52/56. The 60 models have slight changes, as he has added the new 60-06K for softer condition weeks to reduce drag and digging. Most of the reasons for the K sole is to combat softer bunkers he faces at certain venues."

"He has also recently switched all his leading edges to semi square. This is not common on tour especially in the higher lofts but Ben has told me on multiple occasions he has the ability to square up the head so much better now that the edges are square. Ben said that his 60 is his short game dominate club and he likes to have as much feel as possible."

Enjoy the photo gallery of Ben's wedges above and good luck to all of #TeamTitleist this weekend!

Did you see the arrows to left and right of the pic for the other images?

Thanks for the insight. Any chance you have pictures of the will show the semi-square leading edge in comparison to the standard? Also, can you shed any insight on the characteristics of the T Grind?

    Thanks,
    Tyler
  5. question: a) not able to tell from photos, An's PW's bounce? b) curious comment re: his 52.08F being the most played SW on tour - thought that would have been more like a 54° or a 55° or a 56°? c) understand a T grind specific to a tour player; what about the newish D grind?

Great pics and thanks for teaching me something about how a pro thinks about his wedge game.

Thanks Abby for the information about SM7'S. It is great to see what the pros are playing. As usual Titleist is providing the most options and best wedges.

It's really insightful as to what Byeong Hun An is playing and why he plays with certain grinds. I would however caution everyone is different. If you are serious about what grinds you play with under varying conditions by all means get fitted by a Titleist certified fitter. Just my thoughts. Thank for sharing what a tour player works with. Beyond is a really good player.

A lot of new terminology here, scrolling through it's hard to see the semi square setup but those raw finished heads say player's clubs. The 61* really caught my eye as a precision tool. Nice work AD.
