My first-ever ace, and done at the Stamford Valley GC in Stamford, VT where I am a member. It was a Wednesday, July 15 of this year during a league match of the Wed. Morning Retired Men’s League. The weather was perfect with slight humidity at 9:00 am. It was on Hole 1, a 232-yard par 4 from the white tees! I cracked one right down the middle with my driver. My 3 teammates thought it may have seen it go in, and the team on deck believed it as well. On approach, I didn’t not see my ball and thought it may have rolled off the back. My buddy told me to “check the cup on the way by” and sure enough it was in there! Quite the feeling, but I had to finish the round as it was league play and then only to find out later I had to buy the drinks! Well worth it though. My teammates who witnessed it were Tom Bona, and brothers Scott and Dick Remillard!
