So . . . I went back to Purdue for golfing and had a blast with great lifelong friend!! Lots of fun and sun! Also . . . I GOT A HOLE IN ONE!!! Here's the set up I am not the best golfer first of all - probably a 36 handicap if I actually tracked anything. I played last at Pebble Beach in July 2024 with these same friends, and struggled at the end and walked Hole 18 out - did not putt even. So sad! I put my clubs in the bag and had not pulled them out for 24 months! Now it is August 2026. No warm up, no practice rounds, or even driving range or putting practice. . . . then went to Purdue this weekend to play. We played at Battle Ground nearby on Friday before Purdue courses on Saturday. I pulled out the clubs for the first time in over 2 years. Hole #5 at Battle Ground - just 5 holes in - I got my first ever Hole in One!! My swing was like no other. I think I even heard the sound of what seemed like guitar strings strum as the club head met the ball. The line of flight was absolutely straight, the height was perfect, and the ball landed 4' past the hole softly, and spun back into the cup! Very exciting experience!! WOW!! It made the trip that much better! An experience of a lifetime for sure!
