Hey TT members, I just got a new net so I can get some work in with my AP1s in between rounds. Wondering what types of hitting mats other TT members use. I’ve already done quite a bit of damage to the lawn so I’m going to need to purchase a mat soon before my wife has me using my new net as a tent to sleep in.

    Appreciate any feedback. Thanks guys!

I live on the corner lot of a quiet neighborhood, the net would stand out like a sore thumb...but I do chip ALL DAY I'm my back yard, most relaxing thing to do and help soften the hands. Here's to your game improving with your outdoor set up!

I use an Acu-Strike mat because of the feedback that it gives related to impact that you can't get on a conventional mat. There are two models (indoor and outdoor).

I've used a good number of mats over the years and the one I've like the most if the one from Truestrike. I have a full mat, but you can get just a hitting strip for less from them. The other good one is from Fiberbuilt and the plus of that is it will give your forearms and wrists less shock if you hit it heavy, but the TS is better for improvement.

I ended up going with a 4x5 mat. I believe it was from Matzilla. I picked it up on Amazon. So far, so good. I’ve been pounding 100-180 balls a day on it 3 or 4 days each week since it arrived. Works great and it has given me the chance to get my practice in with my new AP1s that I absolutely love. It’s great to get home from work and get swings in on it between rounds.

Great information. I was just thinking about this this morning. I can't always get to the driving range and practice so a net and mat would be great.

That was my problem. Both ranges that I live near have closed. So I was driving 20 minutes just to hit balls. Ever since getting my new Titleist irons this summer, I just can’t stop myself from wanting to hit balls as often as possible. So the net and mat in my backyard is perfect. Just came in from hitting 100. Would have been more but it’s still 94 degrees here in the northern KY suburbs of Cincinnati and I had sweated through my shirt and two FJ gloves.
Now I’m trying to clear out enough space in my garage so I can get everything set up in there before winter arrives.

I have a REEL FEEL golf matt and love it. It's two years old, heavily used, still looks brand new and does give you some turf feedback

For years, I've had a mat and net in my garage. sometimes it was too hot or cold to use. So, in our new house, the net and mat were moved into the new "Man Cave". The arrangement of everything isn't quite set, but so far the temperature has been perfect and I can hit as many balls as I want.
