    Is this move similar to Hogan's, when they talk about the way he "backed into the shot" with his lower body action?

    @RickV . Absolutely, Many players do it. We know this from our pressure trace work.
    To reduce your Heel shots shallow the downswing more. Turn more left.

    One other question, would this help with heel shots? Trying to focus more on hitting center or a little toe versus heel.

    I've practiced this drill before. Not outside but inside with out a club. I've used a door frame and placed my rear slightly touching it and during the downswing made contact with the frame. I've also seen video of this drill outside where the golfer was using a wall and a club. This is definitely a good drill if you have this problem.
