Red is one of the worst offenders, whether on a golf bag or otherwise. Unfortunately, red is a primary color in the Titleist brand. I am about to purchase another Titleist golf bag. It will be my 5th

RE: Weathering of Golf Bags

I think a PU type material that is used on the staff bag will hold its colour longer that a nylon used on a carry bag. I stay away from red bags for that reason. The only red I have is the zips on the my Stadry carry bag. My cart bag is black and white

RE: Weathering of Golf Bags

I have an 8 year old all red stand bag. I thought looked pretty good until I found the rain hood in a closet.

RE: Weathering of Golf Bags

Hi Doug E. ... I have had the "Lightweight Staff Bag" since 2014. I primarily use it in the spring - summer months (April - October) at which point I switch to the StaDry bag.

My Staff Bag is showing strong signs of sun bleaching with the red colour and the red colour only. The red is primarily used in a nylon covering as trim on the bag and thankfully is not a dominant or main colour of the bag.

It does fade somewhat quickly.

An outdoor enthusiast that I know was discussing with me that one technique to consider is spraying your golf bag with some sort of silicone or water proofing spray - not for the water proofing per se, but that if you get the right kind, they come with UV Protection which could lessen the sun bleaching of the red fabrics. I will probably try that on my next bag too.

RE: Weathering of Golf Bags

I just finished my 3rd year with my midsize Staff bag. Simply put, I love it. I can put everything I need in it from rain gear, to balls, etc. etc. The "ball" pocket is laid out right, and the pocket above it sits perfectly for my laser range finder to get at quick. I use it 90% of the time on an electric push cart, and the rest on a golf cart (when I forget to charge my battery). The first two years I played 4+ times a week walking with the push cart. This last year down to 2+ times a week again mostly the push cart., So for the last 3 years it's been out there in the sun pretty regular. I haven't noticed any fading of the bag, and haven't had any wear problems either. Love the look, the functionality and if some day it does wear out, I'll be getting another one without a doubt. I think you'll like it.
