I was curious about peoples experiences with these vs the Ap1s i.e. any significant dispersion improvements or forgiveness.
Hope everyone is

RE: Titleist T300 Irons

Just received my T300 irons/Vokey Wedges last week and they were well worth the wait.

T300 irons

Purchased my new T300’s yesterday ready to try them out

RE: Titleist T300 Irons

I’ve been using the T300 since it was launched.
Previously on 718 AP1.
Feels quite the same to me except for the 5, 6 and 7 irons. For these irons, the T300 is a lot easier to hit then the AP1 and has a higher flight.

RE: Titleist T300 Irons

I was fitted for my T300 irons last fall. Played them all winter (when weather permitted) and up until end of March (when Stay at Home was implemented in KY). Have them in 4-P and 48 degree gap wedge with Project X 5.0 shafts, 1/4 inch long. Have found them to be 1-2 clubs longer than my previous sets (Titleist 962, 714 AP1, and 714 AP2 irons) and 1 club longer than my 718 AP3 irons. They will be in my bag for this year and next with TS2 driver, fairway wood, hybrid, Vokey wedges, and Cameron putter.
Recommend, as others have said, that you get fitted.

RE: Titleist T300 Irons

I have had the T300 since early February. I only got a chance to get in one full round with them before the Stay at Home Restrictions went into place in Maryland. But I have had a chance to get them out for a few practice holes here and there, and really like them. I have the with the KBS TGI 80 graphite shaft, and really like the combo.

I had both 716 and 718 AP1's as well as 718 AP2's. They are better feeling and looking than the AP1 in my mind and maybe a club longer, although it's tough to say for sure. They are obviously a bit more forgiving than the AP2.

All around a very good club.

RE: Titleist T300 Irons

What shaft are you playing?

RE: Titleist T300 Irons

I was playing 716 AP1s until I was fitted in August by the Titleist product specialist up in Pawleys Island. We tried all the new heads and many different shafts and settled on the new T300s based on feel, distance and accuracy. I am 73 years old and I need all the help I can get. When I can hit a 7 iron 160 high off the turf with accuracy, I am all over it. I played with them until the first week of December and had to put them down due to back issues.
But the results were outstanding and my scores were on the way down until I had to put the clubs down. I hope to be back on the course in another three weeks. The doctor has released me to start practicing before hitting the links.

RE: Titleist T300 Irons

I visited at Titleist fitting in January 2020 an was fitted for the T300. I replaced my 714 API and received my new irons in March. I really like the clubs and they feel really solid. I h ave picked up about 1/2 club yardage compared to my API. I strongly suggest visiting a Titleist Thursday fitting and compare the track an numbers to your current clubs. I am very satisfied with my T300 upgrade.

RE: Titleist T300 Irons

Other than highly skilled players using 620 or T100 (players') irons that make great contact every time, all the current irons designed with tungsten inserts, improved MOI, and "springy faces" will all be better at dispersion. Even taking loft changes into effect, they will still be launching higher and longer than irons for "the rest of us" from 5-7 years ago. Not to mention improved shafts and shaft options. If you are serious about playing, it is time to consider an upgrade and getting fit to find your ideal combination.
While the T300 replaces the AP1 in the lineup, if you look at the mid/long irons, you'll visibly see differences in construction. I've had AP1/AP3 and have a T300 5 iron. It is the only 5 iron I could hit. From 712-716, the 5 iron was a placeholder only, never relied on it.
