  1. Felt compelled to write a review on my experience with the CNCPT01s.

I owned 2 sets (I use one for travel) of TMB irons these past few years. When I originally bought them, they were made to order and quite frankly, thought they were on the expensive side. Personally, I thought they were one of the more gorgeous distance irons around and they outperformed my previous irons so I took the plunge.

I came across the CNCPTs one night and thought, no way am I going to drop $500 a club. I put them on a wish list and for Father's Day, my kids (via my wife) bought me a set. I couldn't say no to that.

Anyhow, my heart was set on the CNCPT02 irons . I went to Club Champion to be fitted and to my disappointment, they didn't perform any better than my TMBs (I was able to test it with my current shaft set up since they fitted my TMBs; KBS C-Taper lite, stiff). That said, I had a go with the CNCPT01s. The numbers (for me) were amazing. I was hitting all on my shots (6-iron tested) 10 to 15 yards longer AND with lower dispersion vs my TMBs. What is crazy is that at times, my swing speed was lower, yet had better or equal distances to my TMBs. So maybe there is some substance to the metal they are talking about.

Ok, so I ordered them and took them to the range. As I am sure we all have all experienced, we have excellent numbers in the hitting bay and then come back to earth outdoors. Well, they didn't disappoint on the range. My 5 iron was going 190 yards and average and good shots going 200 yards (according to my SwingCaddie). Previously, I would play my TMBs about 175-180 (though more like 170).

On the course, I am much more confident. I have won 2 local golf channel tour tournaments in the past month and lowered my index by nearly 3 points in six weeks. I have to attribute this to the change in irons.

The only issue I have now is the gap between my PW (now 135 yards) and my current gap (50 degrees since I did not opt for the CNCPT gap wedge. The loft difference is 7 degrees.

Yes, these irons are expensive. I have read a lot about this being a turnoff. Heck, I was turned off at first but have to say that as an addict of this game, these have helped me restore my energy for the game from a competitive standpoint.

The other downside was lack of response. I registered my interest online back in April and never heard from Titleist. Several weeks later, I called their concierge line and left a message (doesn't seem tou can actually get a hold of somebody which is a downer if this is meant to be a premium experience). The only reason why I went to Club Champion is because I read that they were were available through this channel via a forum. Lucky I did come across that forum or else I may have never heard back from Titleist.

Anyhow, can't be more excited about these irons. I feel like a big boy now when I step up to a par 3, 155 and stick my 9 iron close.
