I recently purchased a 917 D2 driver and 917 F2 3W. After hitting 20 balls on the range, the club face had significant scratches on both clubs. Is this common with Titleist clubs? For $400 and $279 respectfully you would think the finish would be more durable. I am disappointed with the quality of the finish. Does anyone else have the same problem?
I have the 917D2 and have ZERO issues. Been playing it the last year and 1/2. I have scratches on the bottom but that's from me being a moron... on the top, nothing unless i hit it with something.. So not sure what you're doing at the range. Not for nothing and IMO it can be dinged up all it wants as long as the performance is there..

My golf club uses srxn range balls. They are a little hard but I make sure they are clean before I use them. If there is some dirt/sand on the balls I set those aside. I play 3-4 times a week and wonder what these will look like in a few months? I had a Cleveland Hi Bore driver and 3W in my bag for the last 10-12 years that does not show that kind of wear.
