  1. What’s your guys thoughts on the new avx balls

  2. The old AVX ball has "L - M" (Low Driver Spin/Mid Wedge Spin)

Still waiting for the Titelist rep to respond why the USGA (www.usga.org/.../gball_list.pdf) lists the new AVX as low wedge spin when the advertising boasts more spin. By the way, I play the AVX and love the ball, especially here in SW Florida where we frequently have windy conditions. It spins enough for me and I like the trajectory in the wind. Distance is great. Right now it is the only ball in my bag.

Given the above description and all things being equal, why wouldn't you play the Tour Soft...cheaper ball?

Titleist is again this year having the 4-4-3 sale. At that price, Pro-V/AVX balls are less expensive the the Tour Soft, if you can buy the quantity. The non-urethane balls in the past have not had discounted promotions.

I have not played the new AVX yet, but play the 2018 version most days, since they were first released. Best ball I've ever played in wind and cooler conditions. Great distance results off driver and long irons. Seems longer than ProV (I have done many side-by-side comparisons between AVX and ProV1.) Spins plenty on wedge shots for me, though I can spin back a ProV easier (but I rarely need to). Urethane cover. @JimV, far better ball than Tour Soft IMO. In summer ProV1 and AVX are my go-to balls. In winter, it's AVX. Period.

I look forward to playing the new AVX in Spring and am hopeful the greenside spin characteristics are similar to the previous version. Counting on them being offered in the Loyalty Rewarded Program, 4 doz. for the cost of 3. Already planning my personalized custom design!

Good points Don O and Doug E. I'm liking the EXP-01 presently but will give the AVX a fair trial in the spring.

Love the previous ball so can’t wait to try the new one..
  8. Just a few weeks ago, I received a free sample of the new AVX balls at The Golf Festival here in The Villages, Florida (2 ball sleeve). I have to say, when I first tied the new AVX, I like the feel and result of it off the driver, irons and wedges. I usually play Pro V1 or Chrome Soft but the new AVX can easily become my favorite in my bag. Looking forward to trying them a little more moving forward in warmer weather. I would have no problem recommending them to anyone to at least try them out on a few 18 holes to get a real feel for them - absolutely impressed with the overall performance of this NEW Titleist ball. Wondering if anY of the PGA Pro’s on tour are using these? Thanks Titleist for the sample balls, wish it would have been a regular 3 ball sleeve instead of 2.

I’m pretty sure the guys over at TXG just reviewed the new AVX and the results were quite good. Low spin on the driver and increased spin with the wedges compared to last years model.
