  1. I’m wondering if I should play the Prov1 or Prov1x with regard to my 85 swing speed on my driver and medium trajectory of both driver and irons! My average drives are 220 and my 7iron goes bout 140.

Your best off hitting both and seeing what results you get from them , then pick from there

Pro V 1x for a higher flight, Ive just changed from Pro V1 for that reason.

Similar to my game and I have been fitted for the ProV1x. It has helped with both distance and height but I do sacrifice the softer feel on chips and putts. Suggest you use the ball selection tab under the "Fitting" category at the top of the website. Ideally, do a actual fitting somewhere using TrackMan or buy a sleeve of each and do your own on-course assessment. Once you figure out which one, try to stick with it for more consistency. Enjoy!

I play the V1X... my swing speed is 94- 95 mph and I carry the ball 225-230. My pro told me that I need the extra launch and spin to keep my ball in the air longer. Plus with my swing speed, the extra spin will help me hold greens on my full iron shots - my 7 iron is my 150 club.

So I think the V1X would work for you as well based on your numbers.

Titleist recommends to try balls around the green, then iron distances, and finally driver. Swing variations impact ball choice more than just swing speed. All balls are long off the tee. It's how you like the performance approaching the greens that matters. At that club speed, there are golfers here with preferences for any one of the 3 urethane balls, not just "the one for driver speeds under 90 mph".

Best advice is to buy a sleeve of each and test them against each other by hitting identical shots with both.

A ball that works for another member may not deliver in the way you want it to.
  8. Pro V1 has lower trajectory and less iron spin. Pro V1x has a higher trajectory and more iron spin.

My iron game and distance control depend on having my iron shots spin back to the hole so for that reason, I play the Pro V1x.

The slightly higher launch angle and slightly higher spin rates of the Pro V1x seemed to fit my needs. Trackman data confirmed this as, for my ball speed, I am in the sweet spot for both launch angle and spin with the Pro V1x. I'm happy with greenside performance as well although if it were a bit softer in feel/sound, I'd be OK with that, too. Interestingly, I am finding that all of the soft face putters take some of the feel away when putting and that the Pro V1x seems to give me better feedback for lag putts. So, maybe the feel is really just what I want as well.
