I've watched the current videos on the differences between the V-1 and the V-1x and would like to know if those differences hold true for the past models. The new info states that the V-1 has less spin and a lower trajectory with less spin while the V-1x has a higher trajectory with more spin. I was always under the impression that the opposite held true with past models.

  2. My regular use of ProV1 and ProV1x only goes back to the 2013 model but that has been the case in 2013, 2015 and 2017 in my experience. And well before 2013 I had seen Titleist marketing material say those same things (more spin and higher for flight for ProV1x) in previous generations.

So I’m pretty sure that has been true for a decade or so. I have never understood why the Internet is full of people saying the opposite when both Titleist and all the Titleist ball users I know have always found ProV1x to fly higher (especially with driver) and spin more (especially with wedges).

The newest ProV1 is by far the longest yet, even though it does fly a bit lower and spin less. In fact the slightly reduced spin with my mid-short irons and wedges is what pushed be towards the ProV1. That and I LOVE the feel.

ProV1x definitely flies higher and spins more with the wedges - still a great ball and optimal fit for many players.

I found the 2017 Pro-V1 to have a softer feel and "sneaky long". I previously used the X to take advantage of the height to improve distance, but the V appeared to be as long w/o the height and the softer feel felt better around the greens. I could say the same for the AVX in place of the V, but it looks like the V may maximize distance with the TS woods. In any event, the X now feels like a rock after using V/AVX for this season. If you've changed clubs since your last ball fitting and you use the Pro/AVX balls, you should find another fitting with the 2019 releases to find the right spin/launch for you.
