Can't Decide Best Time to Get New Driver

  1. I will try to make this short.

I hate my current driver and my spin rates are outrageous. The season in Illinois is basically April-October. I super anxious to buy a 2019 driver and get fitted. At first I was wanting to wait until I got lessons and did more physical therapy exercises for adverse neural tension which limits my range of motion. But now I feel like it would be months from now.

If I get fitted and buy now ... does anyone think my swing can improve that much that in 3-4 months the driver won't fit me anymore? I can always get refitted right?

I guess I want to know that if I go in with a slightly rusty swing and limited range of motion that I will be able to accurately fit myself well enough....in case I improve a lot in the next few months.

    Any input? Thanks!

Unfortunately, yes. Your timing/transition, club head speed, and attack angle could all change enough.
  3. If you are physically restricted, I would talk to the physical therapist and if they feel you have the chance to improve I would wait. I have had shoulder surgery and there is definitely range of motion issues that have to be worked out.
    Good luck with your rehab!
