Recently I went thru a Driver fitting and we decided to trim my 917D3 down to 44.5". The results have been amazing....center face hits are the new norm...better ball striking and more distance!!! The Question is Would it make sense to take that same .5" off of my 3-wood to match the adjustment made on my driver?

    Cheers, Dr.K

Probably Dr K. I seem to hit my 21 degree sometimes as long as my 16.5 and it’s a little shorter.
  3. I’ve done exactly the same with my 917 d3 and it too has been amazing. More fairways and even gained some distance too. I’ve ordered a 5 wood diamana white x flex shaft for my 3 wood to test out. I’ll let you know the outcome tomorrow when it turns up.

  4. I am 5’5” and had thought about having my 915 fitted as well to have it shortened. I have found in recent months that my 3 wood goes as far if not further than my driver and my fairways hit percentage has gone way up. Does anyone have any thoughts on options? I was wanting to keep my 3 wood the same length

If you struggle at all with consistent contact, try out a 5 wood shaft to be sure before you cut the 3W. But you probably will do better.
