I know the obvious answer is to go and hit both and see which performs better for me but I was just curious as to what everyone else thinks or has in their bag. I'm looking to replace a 21* 910h I won't pull the trigger on anything now until the spring but I want to start considering. Thanks TT

Hey Paztor... Unfortunately I cannot say I have tried the TS2 hybrid, nor the U510, however when I was asking a similar question a few years back with Chris at the National Fitting Center, I ended up with the 816 H1 Hybrid.
I was looking for something to take the place of a 3 iron and the hybrid won out primarily because it has a better chance of getting the ball on target out of the rough than a utility iron will. As you know, you need really strong wrists to wrestle a ball out of the rough when you are trying to hit it over 180 yds. A hybrid seems to be better designed fo that. This is one persons opinion... Hope you get some good feedback from others on the forum to help you out :)
  3. Evening Paztor,

I actually play both, I have a 19 degree TS2 hybrid and love it, it is the easiest club to hit high but no ballon to it. I also have a U510 4 iron and it is perfect spacing for me, hit the hybrid about 230 and hit the 4 iron about 215 with a nice controlled soft draw....hope this helps, you can’t go wrong with either. I also custom ordered with Tensei Red shafts to elevate the ball with ease

I absolutely love my hybrids!!! I can hit them far and straight, they also stop on the greens very well.

After lots of swapping & changing of hybrid models over the years to get the top end of my bag right (I’ve had a 913 21* Hyb, 915 21* Hyb, and 818 19* and 23* hybrids), I’ve finally landed on having 3 clubs for two spots that I can put in/out depending on the course.

    I have the U510 4 iron at 22*
    I have the TS2 Hyb 19* (can be played between 18* - 21*)
    I have the TS2 Fwy 18* (can be played between 17.25* - 19.5*)

At the moment it’s 4 iron (22) and Fwy (18.75), but I have played Fwy & Hyb, and Hyb & 4 iron.

    Something for you to consider?

Thanks for the comments. They are exactly what I was looking for. I love getting the first hand advice.

I'm leaning towards the hybrid and since they are on sale at the moment seem to be the reasonable choice and the more popular choice. I hit my 910 well so I would assume the TS will be just as easy if not easier to hit. I think I will keep the 910h (200yds) and add a 19* TS hybrid to get a bit more distance.

    Thanks
  8. I have both TS2 Hybrid (21) and U510 (2). In the beginning, I was regretting I didn't go with another TS2 Hybrid (17) because U510 wasn't easy to hit but now I am happy with it.
Go with the TS2 Hybrid if you had to choose one but I'd say go for both!
