  1. According to TicketIQ.com, the average price of a single-day ticket at Augusta this year is a whopping $2,948.42 on secondary markets. Compare that to $2,592.91 for last year's Masters, and just the prospect of Tiger prowling the leaderboard in his Sunday red has effectively increased the price of entry by 20%.

Here is how the average price for a Masters ticket has fluctuated in recent years, with or without Tiger...

Are you going this year Chris?
  3. I am not planning on going this year unfortunately however I may get in a pre-tournament round with a member...I have done this for a number of years and obviously it is a lot of fun with the spectator seats installed, scoreboards etc...

I would never take this for granted...plus we usually can stay on the grounds as well which make the experience even grander...

We have stayed many times at the Robert Trent Jones Jr. Cabin next to the first tee...I have included a pic below.

I enjoy amen corner...here is a pic of us teeing off on 13.

I did some shopping in December for practice round tix. Wow. People are asking $1500 for the Monday practice round and it goes up from there.

We went last year (lottery tix) and got rained out after a couple hours. That hurt, but not as much had we paid those premium prices.

Also, as a side note, these huge prices are bringing out the scammers. Interesting stories. Be careful.

Chris, that is amazing! I am going to Wednesday's practice round this year. It will be my first time! Needless to say I am super excited!
  10. Trip of a lifetime and I will take the plunge one day but at these prices and at this stage of my life I'm going to pass unfortunately.

Going to the tournament is a thrill and I have been many times in the past. We use to go every year when you could actually walk up and purchase your practice round tickets. Also have been blessed to have been on the actual rounds of the tournament. But to actually play Augusta National is something very few of us mere mortals get to experience. Chris you are pretty fortunate to have such a friend. I can remember when practice round tickets were scalped for $25 outside the gate. "The times they are a changing". Golfers finally discovered Mecca.

I'll stick to praying for something in the lottery. Won't give those who are lucky enough to have tickets to the greatest sporting event in the world, a dime for something they should feel privileged having those tickets rather than seeking a quick buck out of it.

Great post! Out of the 4 majors, the Master's is my favorite. So much tradition at Agusta!!

Really blows my mind to see these soaring ticket prices!!!
I love the Masters but would never pay thousands for a practice round...I would rather put that $$$ in my kids college funds. The best seat is in my house in 4K and I can pause it at anytime to grab another Green Flash IPA!!!

    Cheers,

The tiger effect! Someday I will be able to walk on those hollow grounds! I enter that lottery for like 10 years and never sniff anything - anybody have a similar story?
