With on going improvements in golf clubs I was wandering what your thoughts are when it comes to upgrading your Driver or Fairway Woods. Do you find that you really need to upgrade to the latest Driver or do you feel it's more important to upgrade your Fairway & Hybrids.

I feel like there all very important im getting fitted hopefully soon for a driver and fairway i took a stock 917 d3 8.5 off the shelf and hit it on launch monitor and my spin went down about 400 over my 913 d3 7.5 Which is going to allow me not to have I ballon up in the air so easily now. I hit a friends 917 fairway I don't notice much yardage gain but it had a much better feel over my 913 f as I play off of feel over anything else it sold right there.

I seem to upgrade the driver quicker, sometimes skipping the fairway woods. That said, love the entire 917 line and have the driver (D3) and two fairway woods. Still playing older hybrids.

I personally feel that Irons and wedges are more important, in all of the holes I will end up using irons and or wedges
My driver is a 2014 model and my 3 wood 2013, they both still serve me just right

I think it depends on each individual. It is a good thing to try out the new iterations of equipment as they come out to see if there are any gains for you and then you can make the decision if the change is enough for it to be worth it for you. Titleist comes out with some great stuff every time in their 2-year product cycle. Give it a try when they come out and happy shopping!

I just put the 909 F2 fairway back in my bag with a thousand year old Grafalloy blue in it. When you find a fairway that you like, don't EVER get rid of it. Drivers are a different story.
  7. Learning from pros, where you can... They change drivers quite frequently to have the latest technology (every 4-6 years the technology upgrade really makes the purchase of driver a good idea even for hobby players). The woods they change less frequently and more reluctanty... they say that 3w is the hardest club to upgrade/replace, once they are happy with what they have...
