Japan Specs

Jim M

Can someone tell me what it means when I hear "Japan Specs" associated with Titleist equipment? Thanks.

This is not necessarily centered on Titleist clubs
In general, they are made to suit the smaller physique of Asian players:

Softer shafts come standard (usually an S200 is a stiff stock shaft)
    Shorter length
    Flatter lie
    Smaller grip
    Sets often start 5-PW

    Drivers:
    hotter faces
    softer shafts
    longer lengths

In truth, there is nothing magic about Japanese clubs per se.
