Put my AP2 in the bag for this year, shafted with PX 5.5, and I am finding that they launch and fly high. Obviously this is not always a bad thing but in any wind it definitely makes things a little tougher. I guess I could have them bent a little stronger but would rather not. Anyone else playing them notice a higher launch than maybe even previous generations? Maybe more of a CG placement in the heads?? Thanks for any info.

It could be the shafts. Did you have the same shafts in your old set?

I did comment but I guess it hasn't posted or won't post but just wanted to update this... First, I do have the 5.5 in another set and 5.5 flighted in one as well... I was able to find a set of 7 (4-P) Nippon Pro Modus 120s on eBay for a pretty good price, so I am going to try these out... Matching up my AP2 5.5s to my other set, they must have come out of something someone ordered 1/4" short because thats basically what they are in comparison... I will give the Modus a try as from what I am reading, the PX tend to be higher launching which I was honestly unaware of and thought the opposite.

So, anyone playing the AP2/Modus combo, I'd love to hear your experience. Thanks again to all!

I have the same shafts in my 695 mb, which I expect to be a little lower, and have the 5.5 flighted in my srxn Z745. Little stronger lofts so that could contribute to a lower flight as well... just wondering what others are experiencing with the 716 AP2...

i recently purchased a set of AP-2 716; previously had AP-2 712 fitted with KBS Tour Regular. With new set, I again went to Titleist fitting centre, and it seemed the shaft that worked for me was True Temper Stiff AMT Black. I would be careful of going with one shaft fit all. As time progresses, our swing may change bit, we all trending right way...in sense of better ball striking....etc.
Maybe go get fitted, and try different shafts.....before you commit to buying. Note also, the 716 i purchased came with AMT Gold Stiff....it was OK, but the number from the AMT Black was a lot better.
Plus, i also got my clubs sent to Titleist to do the fitting.....therefore maintaining the warranty.
