  1. Is the only purpose of the serial number to see if the club is legit?

No and these numbers can also be counterfeit too. They do help in warranty claims if you have to return an item for repair you received through an authorized dealer. If you have new clubs, go to the bottom of this site under Customer Service and register your serial numbers.
  3. Probably also helps Titleist keep track of the clubs for warranty purposes and allows someone who buys them second, or third, hand to have them modified, if necessary. Lots of people get fitted these days so you could buy a second hand set that has a lie that doesn't suit, Titleist should be able to tell if this is the case.

It's really just a number to reference your order specs. If you order an entire set with the exact specs, you'll have the same serial number on all clubs. If you order your 3-6i with certain specs, your 7-PW with another set of specs, and your wedges with another set of specs, you'll have 3 different serial numbers.

If you ever need a replacement iron, you reference that serial on the order.
  5. What about when replacing a single club? Can you get the same serial number?

How do I check on a serial number to make sure the clubs are legit.
