Wondering if anyone that has hit them both can share a few comments on how they compare in the forgiveness category. I currently play the 716 AP1 and am intrigued by the AP3. Just not sure I'm at the point in life, at 65, that poor shots won't be too penalizing. Any input would be appreciated.

I hit both the 1 and the 3 at my fitting this past Thursday with every intention beforehand of purchasing the AP3. Both were fantastic, the 3 was everything that I was hoping for, long, soft and great looking. I ultimately decided on the AP1 because the distance and forgiveness were just to much to deny. Hit em' both and see which you prefer.

Thanks for the response. After seeing another response on the board and yours I am leaning in the same direction. I think the AP1 is going to be the best fit for me at 65 and a swing seed that's going in the wrong direction.

Interesting! I have been very happy with my 716 AP1 irons, but want to see how the AP3 irons compare. Gotta hit these!

    Good evening,

Completed a Titleist Thursday Fitting event with George Guidry. I had the intention of getting a combo set of AP2 and AP3 and ended up getting a combo set of AP1 ( 5-7 ) and AP3 ( 8-GW). The shaft will be Nippon NS Pro 880 AMC. The 718's are very impressive clubs. Job well done, George. Thank you.

Hi Chris, We had intended to go to Houston in our Prelaunch Iron event, but Hurricane Harvey changed our plans. George was one of the fitters that would have been helping us at the event. Thank you for your feedback! I will pass on your message to George.

After looking at reviews and responses I decided to go with the 718 AP1. Some experimenting with Recoil 65's in my 716 AP1 made me want to try them with the Tensei graphite shafts. It will be my first set without steel shafts, but, the lighter graphite Recoil seemed a bit more friendly on the elbows. Now chomping at the bit to get them.
