Anyone ever notice how much strong your grip gets as your golf glove breaks in and wears out? I've noticed this with my grip on the golf club recently and have noticed this in other golfers as well. My belief is when the glove breaks down/in, it loses its structure and feel causing you to grip strong and tighter to hold the club comfortably. Every time I switch to a new glove, my grip is less strong and I tend to hold the club with a much better pressure. I carry at least 5 Titleist Players Gloves in the bag and change them often, but will do so even more now. Check this the next time you use an old glove and then change to a new glove. The difference is performance!

I typically buy 3 gloves at a time. When you keep a glove too long you tend to see wear spots and it makes you over think your grip that you worked hard on. I found keeping g the packaging and putting back in when done helps longevity of them as well.

The first time I took notice of this was several years ago. It amazed me how much not only a new glove, but a proper fitting glove has you performance.

I also purchase multiple gloves at a time. I agree with keeping them stored in the packaging. I used to wrap my glove and leave on the handle of my bag. I found that they get dry rotted at a much faster pace.

Use the same glove until it is time for a change. I play the new FJ Contour FLX.
  6. Good tip coolbreeze!! I've noticed this also and change gloves about every dozen rounds. Summertime usually wear 2-3 per round to let them breathe. Grip pressure makes a huge difference. Also feels nice wearing a new one.

I change my glove after just about every fifth round, as I also notice the difference in the grip with a new vs old glove.

I think the glove is one of the more under estimated pieces of equipment by most amateur players. I know they are getting paid to wear them, but you never see a pro with a "broken in" glove.

I probably change my glove once a month. I retire it @ it becomes my practice glove.

    Sorry guys.
In the days of leather grips, I always used a glove.
Now , today's gloves with the composite materials , I feel that a glove is really not required. Therefore I always have the same feel.

This winter I've switched to playing without a glove. I feel like it gives me a better feel for the grip. I live in Florida so come summer time when its hot and humid outside, I may have to use a glove again. Try going without a glove, you may like it.

I have been guilty of using a glove too long. When it starts to show wear and feel a little stiff then I should change it out and get rid of it. Putting the glove back in the original envelope helps to make it last longer. I do wish I could go into the store and just buy a bunch of them. It is my day dream!
  15. I stopped completely wearing a glove out long ago. All of your points are good ones. I'll add that nothing builds confidence for me better than when I start the day with a new Titleist Players glove. For me, it's a great feel and a confident look when I tee it up on Number 1. I'm ready for a great round!

I generally buy the 2 pack of the Weathersofts, by far my favorites regardless of price. I always rotate the gloves, never using the same glove for consecutive rounds-they seem to last longer.

Do not forget about a clean grip! That combination allows me to grip the club with less tension and that leads to a free swing for me. I always put the glove back in the original package after the round is over. They seem to last longer. Besides I like to take care of my Titleist equipment!
