  1. I was just fitted for new irons and landed on the Titleist CB 714s.  The shaft was the true temper Gold S300 (the fitter didn't have an extra stiff true temper shaft that I could try but from a swing speed standpoint I could get an extra stiff).

I found a great used set of CB 714s that has KBS tour c-taper 125 s+ shafts.  How will these compare to the true temper shafts?  I have high swing speed and hit a high ball so I want something that will lower my trajortory and improve controll

You probably could get an "extra stiff" if you went through a special order. I think "stiff shafts" have become the new "regular shafts" in recent years. What I mean by that is, I can only assume more iron sets today are sold in a "stiff flex" variation rather than a "regular flex".

I actually had to special order a "regular flex" for my new AP2's. Golf Town only had "stiff flex" in stock. You would think "regular" is what they would stock, and a "stiff flex" would be a special order. But in a way, this also makes sense to me, in the way that men who play golf always tend to exaggerate their ability, so I can only assume more "stiff flex" sets are sold than "regular flex" sets.

You'll find the KBS Tour to feel a good bit 'stiffer' than the S300s, and yes, they do have a lower ball flight than the DGs as well, with less spin.  Sounds like that set is perfect for you.  Just make sure you get the loft and lie checked when they come in.

The C-Taper S+ would be similar to playing the DG X100.
