  1. Just a read a reply where a Team Titleist member had spare wedges for certain conditions. Is this common practice between the other members? Like, my theory would be to carry a 2i instead of my 5w for windy days. I know it's common practice between the pros especially when they head over to The Open.

The member with the original post stated that he used different wedges for different conditions. I know that for me, on windy days, I prefer to use a PRO V1 rather than X because it gives me the peace of mind with the lower flight. Just feel, I know it may not be real.

I was the same switching between the ProV1 and X for windy or rainy, etc. days, but at the Titleist fitting they recommended against it to stay with the same X all the time. I also switch out clubs for conditions and courses, but like you mostly in the lower clubs, maybe my 712U 2 iron or 815 Hybrid instead of the 5 wood or even 3 wood, or even down to a 1 iron depending on the conditions or course.

I play very few courses with fine sand. If I was a snowbird in AZ, I'd likely have at least 1 wedge with more bounce to limit digging too deep. My choices in central and west TX would also vary as I rarely play hard pan - more soft soil conditions.

I add a 60 degree wedge for chipping when courses dry out and you get tight lies or you're playing a course with very fast greens, also for those courses that have very little sand in their bunkers. I also adjust the loft on my driver based on course conditions, more loft when course is wet, giving me more carry, and less loft when course is hard and dry, giving me more roll out. That's about the only changes I make. Normally don't carry a 60 degree lob wedge, its a love/hate relationship with that club. Only carry it when I have to.

When I was playing a lot of open events all over the uk I used to have several bounce options on my 52,56,60 wedge set up for varying ground condition and course types. More bounce on wet lush courses and less bounce on dry sand base links type courses.
