going to hit both a 716 T-MB 2 iron and a 716 AP1 3 iron Thursday in the hopes of ordering one of them. i perfer to hit my current 714 AP1 3 iron off the tee as i have far better control then my 913 driver, 913f and 816 hybrid. looking to just get a little more yardage off the tee. I figure if the T-MB doesn't work out i can always go with the 716 AP1 3 iron and have it bent strong 1 degree making it 18 degrees. anyone out there have any experience having a Titleist club bent strong? will it compromise the club even if only bent 1 degree. thanks in advance for any and all input.

  2. Jim, the T-MB 2 iron will definitely give you more distance. But, it will not be as forgiving as the AP1 3 iron. I'm not a big advocate of bending clubs, but, 1 degree should not harm the club. You are doing the right thing...go hit both clubs and see which feels better to you. If Trackman is available, ask to be put on monitor and see the difference.

hit both clubs and i found out when hit pure the T-MB goes a mile. problem is my swing is not always pure and the T-MB is not that forgiving. miss hits can be problematic. i talked with my Titleist fitter and agreed that a 716 AP1 3 iron bent 2 degrees strong and 1/2" longer would work much better for me. because i am looking to use it mainly off the tee the change in bounce won't hurt me that much. I so wanted the T-MB to work but alas i'll go with a sure fit then a pipe dream :)
