I currently play DCI 762's with DG S300 shafts, I love the shafts but am looking to get something newer as an upgrade from the 762's. Any suggestions, I am looking for something comparable to the 762's.

Those DCI 762 looks really nice. If you were to replace that, I'd say you'll probably like the 716 CB. The standard shaft on the 716 CB are the True Temper Dynamic Gold AMT and it comes with an S300. Those shafts are weighted differently although I liked them when I first got my set in it. But then I'm not as strong anymore to play them and had to switch to a much lighter steel and also a regular from stiff- the NSPro Zelos 7. It's light as a graphite, but performs like a steel.

Yea I really like the look of the 762s at address but I've had them for about 12 years now so I'm ready to move on and upgrade.

I would go see a Titleist certified fitter. Take your current 8 iron with you and do a comparison at the fitting. That is the best way to find what you are looking for. And you just might find a set up that works even better with the new equipment. I had a set of DCIs at one time and am now playing 716 AP1S. No comparison. The improvement in the Titleist clubs is overwhelming. So do yourself a big favor and save yourself some $$$$ in the long run by getting fitter properly. Cheers, Chuck......

I'd try the AP1's first. The DCI's are a great club, but are cast. You may also like the feel of a Titleist forging, like Noel mentioned. They are significantly softer than even a few years ago, IMO. Either way , with Team Titleist, you have numerous options.....

Wow that's good question and technology has really come a long in the last few years since the DCIs. I would say give the 716 AP2s a try, they would look pretty similar to the DCIs from the top view and the technology that's packed in them would surprise most people. I would say that it's their most popular iron (I believe) and a lot of pros use them, so they must be pretty decent.

In regards to shafts, TT S300 are still pretty popular in most irons out there, but you should try many of the other offerings that are out there; such as the TT AMT, project X, project X LZ, or even KBS . But you have to remember, that some of these will be upgrades you decide to go with them.

Try and schedule a fitting to be able to test out all the irons and then find the right shaft/head combo.

Let us know what you end up getting and how you like them.

Like Chuck suggested...find a qualified Titleist fitter near you and try out all the different iron heads to see which works best for you. Chances are the fitter may not have all the shafts you would like to try, but if there is something specific you want to try, talk with the fitter in advance and see if he/she can get it.
