I got fitted for new AP1 16 irons ( graphite ) love them. Also at same time got fitted for the 915F 7 wood. It was to replace my old 5 wood 909F2. Couldn't believe how well I hit it and further by 10 to 15 yards. My only frustration is having to clean the recoil slot, after about every shot. I see the new 917 woods have addressed this issue with a filler or cover. I was wondering if we can get this filler or cover and end this frustration. Or could I send to Titleist to correct for me. Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Ken,
I use an 816H1 and have the same problem with the channel. I can't speak to Titleist back fitting a cover. I have found that a bag tag is strong enough to clean the channel out. My USGA tag is thin enough to fit in the channel (my T/T tag is a bit too thick - hint, hint to Titleist) and that works pretty well on the course until I can get it home for proper cleaning. Hope this helps a bit.

Ken, Cathi or someone on staff may chime in but I doubt there is any way to retro-fit the 917 channel insert into the 915 series. I am anal retentive about clean grooves in my irons so my brush is always near when I'm playing - and I have found that my club brush's firm plastic bristles works very well for popping occasional dirt out of the channel on my 915f (I bag the 16.5* with a speeder 757x - it's amazing) as well as my 816h1 during a round. Doesn't really bother me.

Hi, There is not a way to retrofit the older Active Recoil Channel to create a newer channel as they are different in thicknesses, length, etc.
