I am currently gaming AP1 714's and really like them, my whole bag is Titleist I am still a mid to high handicapper, but I am looking to upgrade to the 716 AP1. With this being said will I see any benefits if I do upgrade or should I just keep playing what I have, I am a senior here (61), would love to be able to play the AP2 but I know that it's a little too much club for me.

Get the new sticks, pack up your old ones and send them to me. Just saying. Good luck with your decision, hit um straight , Dave...

I upgraded from 714 to 716. But I knew I needed new shafts so I went ahead with a fitting and a new set (6-P). If you are otherwise satisfied with you might want to try AP2s in the shorter irons and keep your 714s in the longer irons. My 716s launch higher and stop on greens, but the shaft has a part in this as well.

Why do you say you are 'looking to upgrade'? Are you having issues with your AP1s?

Were you custom fit to them? If not, I would ask you to get them fit to your swing. They may need to be adjusted for lie, which will make a world of difference for you. The other issue may be the shafts. If you weren't custom fit to them, you may benefit from a different shaft.

I'd say keep playing those AP1s, but make sure they are dialed in for YOU.

The AP1's are fitted to me, they are -1*flat + and the shafts also. All I was wondering was there enough change in the two to go spend the extra money for the upgrade. I went last weekend to a local Golf Galaxy and hit both side by side and really didn't see enough improvement to spend the money to change. I really like my 714 AP1 and will still be playing them. I hit other brands also but for me Titleist is still the club for me! I also tried the AP2 but my ball striking is quite there to play them, they are the best looking club on the market hands down!
