Recently switched to cally Chrome Soft from ProV1x. Had good results with the Chrome Soft, but just played 2 rounds with the Titleist prototype test bell. Shot 75 the first round and 74 the second round (hit ball too far on a layup and with OB and made double bogey. Hope to find out what the test ball really was. Probably will switch to that ball....

Fred ... I will tentatively say, welcome back to Titleist -- the number one ball in golf! :-)

I usually play the Pro V1x , but I have played the Chrome Soft from time to time as well. The Chrome Soft is a good ball, no doubt, but, I think this new Pro V1/Pro V1x edition is even better. The soft feel of the new ball with even better spin characteristics will make this version the best yet.

I was so impressed with the "drop and stop" characteristics of the new ball -- I did not think that they could improve the spin and control of the ball more than they did over the current generation of ball but they did!

Feel free to take a picture of the ball and put it on the site and we should be table to tell you what it is. But, If the number is black, it more that likely is a Prov1. If the number is red, then a Prov1x. Think that is the type of ball they are testing presently.
