wool knit - if you get stuck in rain conditions they are a breeze to dry out and get going again. If you need to clean them, drop them in the washing machine with some Woolite and you are good to go - do not dry them.

There are a ton of options out there - I have been going with Gios Golf recently.

I have the white leather headcovers for my driver and fairway wood. It is a really nice and thick material, and it looks awesome in the bag. I can't speak from personal experience with the wool headcovers, but I know that you can't go wrong either way. Good luck!

I've had the wool covers since they came out and really like the old school look. though the new leather ones are nice but out of my price range at the moment. great looking for sure and would not mind trying them out. i normally keep the driver cover off while golfing. if you're one that throws the head cover on the ground while hitting, grass sticks to the wool ones though i don't have that problem. either choice will be a good one.

Leather head covers are really nice. It adds a little identity to the set.

I have both, the black leather ones are my favourite, they look great and stay on the club. I used to find the woollen ones were ok unless it was damp but the one on my rescue club used to end up on the fairway quite a lot as it used to fall off. I know the leather ones aren't cheap but they are good quality and I'll be looking to buy the white ones for the summer now they are in the UK. Which ever ones you buy you won't be disappointed.

The leather takes some time to break in as the leather is a snugger fit in the beginning. The wool knit is a breeze to get on and off.
Personally, I prefer the look of the leather, but yes, they are pricey.

I have a set of the Limited Edition Titleist "Open Championships" leather and a leather black Titleist hybrid and love them. Maintenance is not a problem. Also have the Titleist Knit head covers and I really love the old school look of them. Hard to say which I like best. I have three bags, and it all depends on which bag and what event I am playing in as to which head covers I use. Stock, leather or knit.

Thanks. The black lightweight bag is my travel bag, cart bag is for everyday play at my home course and the tour bag is for tournament and special outings. The Folds of Honor is special. It was a gift. The SC California Chrome head cover is my favorite and goes to tournaments. Also have head covers from the US Open, and the Masters. They just do not match up well with the bags. Keep them in the man cave.

Had 'em both and loved 'em both. The "pom pom" like you said are wool. Not too many of those you see around anymore, most are polyester. No doubt the leather are top notch. Better than many other leathers you can get on line from some other very good vendors. Thicker and better made. The Titleiest are superior. Yes they're expensive. I had them gifted, and purchased through shop credits. But they've been going for 3 years and none for the wear, and Like about, you can't beat the look.

I have both wool and leather head covers. I usually switch them up depending on weather. If there is any chance of rain I put on the leather covers and of there is clear skies I put on the wool. I like the wool slightly better because it has a custom design (Miami sports theme) and I find them a bit easier to take on and off.

What you pick should protect the clubs. Leather is best for bumps and chip protection over wool. Also the leather keeps the clubbed dry.

I prefer the leather headcovers. I have used Jan Craig covers for years. The only problem here in Florida is we get a lot of rain and the are tough to dry out.

I'll pay for the clubs, bag, putter, and shoes, but Titleist should take better care of us when it comes to Head Covers. I love both the retro wool and leather, but I go non-Titleist due to price. If you golf more than once a week they will wear out.

unfortunately i have to agree with this. i love the design of the titleist leather headcovers but the price is tough to stomach. however, they do last a long time and are probably worth the price.

I've had both. The knit cover, after a couple rounds, the threads broke and they started to unravel. Had that set replaced once, it happened again, gave up. Purchased the leather cover, set of three. After one season of golf in the deep south, the sun faded them. I cleaned then polished them with basic black shoe polish. Being leather, they'll work for quite a long time.

I see advantages and disadvantages to both as well. The leather covers are more durable and wipe clean with a damp towel. The wool covers are lighter and easy to drop in the washer when dirty. However, they lose their stretch after a few seasons and I eventually lose them.
After seeing Team Titleist head covers on the forums, I really need to get a hold of some of those!

I've owned 2 sets of the knit head covers, and love the look. However, both sets developed large holes in the driver covers, and on the 2nd set, in the 3 and 5 woods as well.

I went with leather covers early last season, and those still look great.

Wool:
Pros - fits anywhere, not time to break in, the ones with the old school pom on the end are pretty awesome.

Cons - will eventually tear (happened to me a few times), can get a mildew smell if it gets wet, stretches out and looks like a sock hanging off of a foot eventually.

Leather:
Pros - stylish, easy to wipe off, lasts forever ang gets better with age

Cons - takes awhile to break in, some are bulky

I just purchased the 917 driver last fall and find that the leather cover looks great. It does fit quite snug at this point and I am hoping that it will break in a little more over time. I feel I need to be pretty careful putting the cover back on because I don't want to damage the club because of the snugness.

I received a pair of leather hybrid covers as a gift they're great, they were a little stiff at first but now they they fit snug but now they go on and off just fine.

I am a huge fan of the knit pom covers. I have an 8 year old set, made by JuJu, that look almost new. (And I play 75 to 100 rounds per year)
The initial cost is by far offset by the quality, style, options to customize.
No rips, pulls, snags, or excessive discoloration.
