Hooray!!!! A couple of years on and I'm absolutely thrilled to announce my first ace today. A flushed 6 iron on the 169 yard 9th at Test Valley GC. Best of all - made using one of my highly prized TT logo'd ProV's!

After a shockingly dire 2018 on the course and a no better start to 2019, one shot has re-awakened the love for the game and I can't wait to tee it up again.
Having waited ALL these years, I'm sure I should treat myself - the new black AP2s perhaps?..... (might be pushing it).
Keep up the great work Titleist and happy golfing to all in TT.
    Cheers

Same for me :) The closest I have come is about 9 years ago at the Nicklaus course at St. Mellion. The 11th hole, it took one bounce, checked a bit then rolled towards the hole. We all stood there willing it on, it rolled up, did a full 360 round the cup and stayed up!!!!!!!
  6. For what it is worth a few weeks ago I managed to hit the flag on the 17th at Dainton, unfortunately that didn't stop the ball and I ended up just on the green the far end. The closest I have come is about 3" away on another (now sadly closed) course.
But this coming year is MY year.....
    :) :) :)
  7. Played golf for around 15 years now couldn't tell you how many competitive rounds but last year I had a practice round 1 evening and managed too hole an 8 iron from 165yds on a lovely par 3! Chuffed too do it but being on my own was just typical!!!

    Saturday 1st Nov 2003.

One date that will forever be remembered by myself.

    Westerwood Golf Club, Cumbernauld
    13th Hole - Laura's Pond

It was a bounce game with 3 workmates (yes, there were witnesses)

From what I remember, it was approx 160 yds, with the green just beyond and to the right hand side of a large pond.

6 iron in hand, managed to hit one of those shots that i knew straight away was just "sweet".

It was straight as a die, arrow like heading straight for the pin.
It landed approx 6 inches to the left of the pin and spun right towards it.

It was one of those, has it gone in? is it sitting right behind the flag? none of us were quite sure.

All 4 of us couldn't get to the green quick enough to see if it was that one main elusive thing most golfers want.

When we got to the green, sure enough, we couldn't see the ball behind the pin. it was in. RESULT!!!

I still have the ball, it's is mounted on a small plague with the date etched on the plaque.

Fortunately, with it being a bounce game with 3 work colleagues, not being my home club, and a very quiet Saturday morning with no-one in the bar, it only cost me a couple of rounds at the bar.

Tbh, since then I don't think I've ever been within 2 or 3 foot of the pin on a par 3 since.
  9. We have two courses at my club. I'd played 20 years without ever thinking I'd get one. On June the 4th last year, 4t hole I got one on Captains day . Expensive. I then got a 2nd on our second course on the 8th hole in September 2016. managed to save the balls and get them mounted both PRO V1X. I don't think I'll ever play with anything else.
  10. I was fortunate to have 2 holes in one last year Hannah my first was on the 17th at the desert springs golf course in Spain and my second was at Wollaton park golf club in Nottingham on there 8th which was in a open pairs comp on a Sunday so unfortunately did not get a boss watch from how did I do ! I got my card returned to me to keep and a bottle of whisky from the captain of wollaton park golf club I have sent you a photo of the certificate I received in Spain ps both holes in one with titleist CB 716 irons !

    Hi Team Titleist
My memorable day for my first hole in one was the 14th September 2015.
Every year for the last 15 years a group of friends & myself go to Wales on golf trip, on our last day we played Abergele golf club. On the 2nd hole 151yards I hit an 8iron ap2 and to my amazement bounced once and rolled in the hole, what was even better there was quite few people about around to witness my hole in one , there was lots of high fives & hand shakes. I know have a my pro v1x ball proudly displayed & a picture to remember this special day . Stuart L

    Hi Hannah
My lucky day was March 4th 2017 at South Herefordshire on our long 3rd par 3. It had been raining overnight and I took a driver which set off covering the pin all the way but I thought it was too big a club and might be out the back. We got to the green and my 2 playing partners approached their balls on the green and I headed off to the back of the green but was left wondering where on earth it could be. The only place it could be was in the hole! And there it was! Yipee!

  14. Corhampton Golf Club, 13th hole - unlucky for some, flipping lucky for me!
Playing an after-work round with a chum and hit a 6-iron to the 175 yard up-hill par 3. It looked a great shot, but as the green is above the eye-line we didn't see where the ball went. 5 minutes of fruitless searching around the green and my partner decided to look in the cup..........and there it was! The ball was instantly retired.
Got to within 6 inches of an ace on the 4th at Royal St Georges as well, close, but not close enough.

  15. I have one hole in one.
In a Stapleford round on the 4th at Chelmsford.
It's a short par 3, 128 yards uphill with a bunker at in front.
I hit wedge to the green, it looked close but you can't see the green from the tee.
We actually thought it was long so spent a few minutes looking for it before checking the hole.

Can't say I can even remember being close...
  18. My first was on my own in a practice round. I went bazerk! Followed by sadness, due to no witnesses. Then the next day, playing in an event at an away course, bagged me a second 'with witnesses' in competition play! 2 in 2 days!!!!
  19. I've had 4 in 30 years of golf and they all came in 3 years! One in 2001, three in 2003.
2001, International Club du Lys, #3, 170 yards, 7 iron, one hop and in
2003, International Club du Lys, #6, 166 yards, 6 iron, one hop and in
2003, Raray Golf Course, #16, 190 yards, 5 iron, blind landing, pitchmark 1 yard short of the hole, ball in
2003, International Club du Lys, #3, 87 yards, SW straight in [was pretty happy as it was the Beaujolais nouveau competition where you shave one stroke off your score if you drink a glass of the dreadful liquid... so 1-1 = zero!]

Tons of close calls in the last 14 years, but no chance. At least three holes out in the range 120-180 yards for eagles but no 1's for a long time. Left a 200 yards 4 iron half an inch short this year :-p

  20. Was having a pretty awful round but a beautiful strike on the 6th and an expensive bar bill followed. Worth every penny.
  21. After 4 years playing the beautiful game that is golf I have managed to make my first hole in one! I am currently a member at Norwood Park Golf Course in Southwell Nottinghamshire with a 16 handicap using a Titleist Velocity ball. About 4 weeks ago our group of 16 Society took a weekend away to Staverton Park Golf Club in Daventry. First day became singles match play in which I began well against an old foe who's handicap is far higher than his current form suggests, 3 up through 3 settled the nerves and let me play a lot more relaxed golf than usual. The 12th hole arrived, 165 yard par 3 with my opponent gaining a shot on me leaving me knowing I had to hit the green to give me a chance of at least a half. I decided to take 6 iron as it played uphill and hoped for a good connection, this didn't happen. I thinned it to the left with an element of slice and the ball shot up the fairway landing around 120 yards from the hole, the other 3 in my group were optimistic it would get up near the green as I turned away in disgust, moans of that will be ok ya know and that will be fine still were of no interest to me, another 4 ball watch on from the 13th tee box with loud shouts of hey up! hey up! hey up! (one of them in close and a closest to the pin prize riding on it) and the ball crept through the rough, then fringe and down the hole, then all hell broke loose with the 4 ball in front screaming and running back down the hill and my fellow players behind me jumping all over me and the tee box! A truly memorable moment which was ultimately costly at the bar I realise how rare this is. The Titleist Velocity ball has truly given me more distance on all shots and better control, this has seen me take 2 shots off my handicap since Christmas even though winter rulings have been in place.

Thanks and keep producing these quality golf balls!

  23. Hi Hannah, I've had a couple on corporate days and oddly both witnessed by the same person despite playing with him just once or twice a year.
First was around 2000/1, 8th hole (no longer as it's been reconfigured), 300 yard par 4 at The Manor House Castle Combe. Played from an elevated tee I hit a 3 wood (lovely old Titleist PT) that landed softly, took 2 hops and rolled out around 6ft and straight in the hole for albatross.

Second was at The London Club (International course) in 2011, another corporate day. Par 3 17th, 200+ yards uphill. It was that day's Beat The Pro hole and when we arrived at the tee he said you won't believe this but a 24 handicapper just aced it! We had a chat about that while waiting for 2 groups to tee off.
The group in front included the guy who witnessed my other hole in one.

That group holed out and waited behind the green to watch our shots.
The Pro hit 5 iron to about 20ft. I took out my AP2 4 iron, lined it up and hit it right out of the middle.
As the green was elevated all we could see from the tee was the ball pitch in line with the flag and start to roll out.

Next thing we see is the 4 guys on the bank behind the green jump in unison with their hands in the air and cheer!
So I didn't see it go in the hole but it didn't detract from that great feeling :)
