It is cold and snowy outside now, and will be for at least three more months :) I have been putting in my basement and can also make short chips which is good to maintain the putting stroke and learn to hold the follow through on the chipping. What I need to do is find a way to take a full swing in a room with only an 8 foot ceiling. I have tried holding on to small 5 pound wights which helps keep the muscles stretched, but nothing give me the same feeling as one gets holding on to a club. You know how the club bottoms out during the swing etc...

Has anyone found a way to duplicate the feeling of a full swing when limited to an 8 foot ceiling height ? If so - what have yo tried ?

Hi Darius ... I am a bit more fortunate. Even with the snow some of our practice ranges are open so that we can keep swinging the clubs a bit more. Only thing I find in the colder months like this is that even with heaters it is still a bit on the cold side and I find myself rushing my swing a bit. I think that it is a matter of wanting to try and keep a bit warmer! Hahaha

At the end of the day, I am grateful that I can still take full swings and try to maintain some tempo and rhythm in my swing. Canadian golfers are a hardy lot!

I have a similar problem. Fortunately I am a vertically challenged and am able to take a full swing with my wedge. On those warmer days you could always put a couple layers on and go outside. Pretend it is early season golf.

    Hey Brother,
go to fitness depot and buy some long resistance bands. attach to a stable strong surface by looping it around and practice some resistance swings and body turns with acceleration/resistance to improve club head speed. can do all kinds of swing variations with the bands :)
    Hope this helps.

Thank you all for your responses...
As usual, the TT members always seem to come through.
I think the resistance bands may help.
Looking at the item from FJL, I stand 6'2" and trying to swing something that is 67cm at the end of my long arms may still leave a few dents in my new ceiling :)
    Three more months !!!
