Truly a sad day to hear that Arnold Palmer has passed away.

A true legend of the game both on and off the course.

Rest in Peace Mr. Palmer - you will be missed !!!!!!!!!

A great man! I remember sitting on a bench by the 1st tee at The Chaudierre GC as a 4 year old in 1959 and my Dad brought me a small bottle of Coke and pointed to the first tee and asked me, "Do you know who that is?".... and obviously I didn't. He said, "That is Arnold Palmer!" But my father said it as though he was a very important man, like the Prime Minister or someone of that level. It was an elevated tee with flowers around it and a path with stoned steps to get you up to that level, so being the innocent little kid that I was, I walked through the spectators and up to the tee and introduced myself and he shook my hand and said something like, "What a little gentleman" after I offered him my Coke with a straw in it and everyone started to laugh. I remember him shaking my hand to this day and how rough it felt at the time. RIP Arnold, you are loved.

Yes very sad, but being 87 and still loving the game at all levels is awesome. I saw a letter posted by MacKenzie Hughes dated August 15 congratulating him on his close Web.com win, what a true patriarch / fan of the game.

I have never met Mr. Palmer, but feel like I really knew him.... Sunday was a very sad day, as there will never be another person like him.
    RIP
