Go to your local hardware store and pick up a small container of CLR. It comes in a silver plastic container. Very effective for removing surface rust. It's liquid so there is no scrubbing involved. Just follow simple to use directions.

Coming from experience in gaming many types of materials/heads of Scotty's, Bruce & DV have suggested the correct procedures to help get rid of the rust. It can come from simply getting wet and staying damp. Or playing on a wet day and not wiping off the cover prior to going into the headcover. This is the most common mistake in care people make with Scotty's.

I highly recommend trying out the fixes first prior to going to the proshop you got it from for warranty. It is great though that Titleist will offer this. It appears to be very minimal in surface rust and should come right off with the remedies provided above.

An oil cloth is your very best friend with ALL Scotty putters!!!!! I can't stress this enough. Get a few from Scotty's site: www.scottycameron.com/.../product.aspx

Wipe down with the cloth after every round and store the putter in a dry location when not in use. Damp/humid conditions are not your friend.... I just got a Carbon head tour putter. That thing is the toughest to keep from pitting/rusting. I have to be very careful when in use and only take it out on nicer days.

I’ve got a Circa 62 that I received with a good amount of rust on it (it’s also only gotten worse over the years). It looks like the putter face is made of very similar material. Would you give any different specific instructions for a putter like this one?

I would try and see what titleist says. if no help there, maybe try some brasso or the scotty cameron oil cloth.

mix some baking soda and water, then apply it to the rusted areas. Let it sit for a bit. Use a dish sponge and some elbow grease. That should get rid of it.

So DO NOT put your Scotty in Coke to get the rust off. All it does is eat the paint. Guess I'll have to send this one in for some TLC.

Are they tools or jewels? Doesn't rust = patina?

As you can probably tell I do not own a SC putter...
