I notice that the vast majority of putters in the gallery store are 34" in length and seem to weigh in the 350 gram slot for that length. is there an unsaid message in that? I have 34" length Del Mar and Newport putters along with my gamer for life 35" TeI3 Left hand Newport with lots of lead tape on the head and am wondering are shorter putters the norm for Tour players or is the length altered to accommodate taller players which would seem to inflate the swing weight past normal. I'm contemplating a change and need a little help and guidance, the 34" putters see the course very little and the bag less. why the predominance of 34"?

Might just of been luck of the draw when you where there?
Maybe the middle length makes for quicker adjustments to either 33-35" for them who knows but likely just luck of the draw. I understand that all the putters in there are basicallly one-offs
But on tour no 34" wouldn't be the norm on tour there is not really a norm. All guys have their specs and personal preference. What ever length to get the right sight line with your eyes based on where you are comfortable in your putting stance
  3. The demand is high from the asian market as well as the us market for this size and weight of putter. It has been this way for years.

Tour players have lengths all over the spectrum...

I would think it's just the most common length. You could always have a golf shop shave off an inch or two from your putter. But in the case that you would need it longer I'm not sure what you would do.
  5. 34" 350g is the most common and also most sought after in the tour stick market.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I was told by a Cameron collector that 35"-330gr. 34"-340gr, 33"-350gr are all the same swing weight. At one point the tour players were using 33"-350gr putters and that became the rage. Now with all the customizing and technology they can make putters that fit your stroke like a set of irons. So the head weight and length is based on you more so than anything. The pre-circle T putters like the Newport 33"-350gr is one of the original putters that wasn't 330gr or 340gr.
As a side note, I believe Tigers Newport II GSS he put back in his bag is a 35.25" 327gr putter.
