I used to have the 2009 version as well. I kept buying new ones of that version until I could no longer find them for sale at a reasonable price in 2015. Everyone wanted the 2009 version due to the old grooves, so the price went up as the demand got high and the availability became very small. (Titleist no longer supplied them, but various outlets still had stock, I guess.) When I got a price of about double retail, I decided it was finally time to go with the new grooves and the SM6 was my choice. These are the best wedges I have ever owned. As I may have stated in another thread of yours, I play 50.08F, 54.10S and the 58.12K. The bounce on the 50 is very close to what it is on my AP2 716 PW, so since I generally use my 50 as a full or 3/4 swing gap wedge, I like the similar bounce. I rarely use the 54 for sand, but do use it a lot for chipping with a square face and the S grind works very well for that. The 58K grind is an awesome lob wedge, as well as the best sand wedge I've ever had, yet I have no issue whatsoever chipping with it from short grass. I use the 12* of bounce when I need it, but delofting it by a degree or two leaves me with a great tool for chipping. Chipping from rough is a breeze and the added bounce and wider sole helps to stop the club from going too deep and catching the ball too high on the face. Though I have heard good things about the M grind as well, there is no way I will be giving up my K grind.

FWIW, I have a bit steeper swing. Definitely not a sweeper. I take a divot forward of the ball with all wedges and irons, and often with hybrids, and even sometimes with my fw woods. I draw my irons or hit them straight. Rarely do I cut them.

The F Grind is a great all around grind and fits a majority of players and course conditions. The reason we categorize the F grind as all 3 swing types is because this grind is offered on the pitching wedge, gap wedge, and sand wedge lofts in different bounce options. For this reason, the ideal swing type is dependant on what loft and bounce you are selecting. For example, if you are selecting a 50.08F, this is ideal for a shallow to a neutral angle of attack; whereas, the 50.12F is ideal for a steeper angle of attack.

In the case of the 56.14F, the 14° of bounce makes it ideal for softer conditions and a steeper angle of attack.

If you have a shallow angle of attack and play in firm conditions, the M grind would be a great option. If you have a shallow angle of attack and play in neutral to softer conditions, the S grind may be a better selection. In your case, you mention you have a shallow angle of attack and play in firm conditions so we would recommend continuing with the M Grind in your 54 and 60. If you are looking for a little bit more wedge set versatility, a 54.10S and 60.08M is a very popular combination.

Andrew, Should I gather from your reply that the f grind may not be the best for my swing and playing conditions? I do love the M but wonder if I shouldn't have more bounce on at least one of the 2 wedges for sand. The described "playability" of the F grind had me wondering if it wasn't the solution?
