  1. Age 55, 7 HCP, using AP2 dynamic gold 300 stiff. Current equipment too stiff and heavy. I only hit a 7 iron 133 yards. Was fitted for AP1’s with Kurgo 65 and hit them much farther with less spin =148 yards Love the feel and look of AP2 but giving up too much distance. I’d like to order AP1 9-5 fill the set with 4 Vokey wedges (currently using them and them extremely well) Problem: AP1 9 39 degree wedge 43 degree. Vokey wedges start at 46F.08 by all accounts 7 degrees is too much spread between clubs. Any thoughts? Can you custom order a 43/44/45F .08 then getting gapping into a more conventional spread? I’m also under the impression the Krugo 85 is best suited for Vokey wedges. Open to ideas

    Dear User,

I play the 716 AP1s but my set goes up to the 43 degree P wedge. From there I have a 46-08 Vokey that I bent up to 47 degrees so as to match the second gap wedge offered in the AP1s and keep a 4 degree spacing. I then go to a 52-12 Vokey that I bent down to 51 degrees (4 degree spacing) and finally a 56-10 Vokey sand wedge (5 degree spacing). With all of the bending, the bounce on the Vokeys is 9,11 &10 degrees (I tend to like my bounce around 10 degrees). You don't say what the lofts of your 4 Vokey wedges are but if one of them is a 60 lob then you could copy my set-up, keep your 4 wedges and have only 4-5 degrees of spacing. Hope this helps. Fairways and greens.

  3. Many thanks, after speaking with the rep at the golf store he came up with an idea that seems to make sense. Turn down the 8 & 9 irons by one degree and leaving the 9 iron at 40 degree. Then, turn down the Vokey 44/ 45.08F, getting me back into standard lofts 50.08F. I know I want an F grind for wedge and gap but not sure on 56/60 I’m hearing some great stuff on the K grind for the sand. I really would like club for thin lies. Not sure if the K grind is the best fit. I’m also considering sending out my SM 4’s 56.08 & 60.07 to Vokey Works and get them tuned up with Krugo 85 then make a decision on the sand and lob later. I’m not gaga on the 60.07 in tight lies
