  1. Any suggestions out with the obvious? Spending a week down in May. Have played tpc, Troon etc before so recommendations for lesser known tracks are appreciated! Thanks in advance

There are lots of great courses in Scottsdale or even just a bit of a drive also. I would say try; Grayhawk (a lot of pros live and play at this course), Talking Sticks, McDowell Mountain, Kierland, We-Ko-Pa are just a few up in the Scottsdale around.

Hope you play well and let us know where you play and what you think of it.

Stay out of the desert! ;)

The other TPC course is a good one to play, Talking stick was pretty good. and the 27 holes at the Westin Kierland were all good. Played all of the above a lot last year.
  4. Great, thanks guys. I'll take a look at the suggestions

If you don't mind a short drive, go east and try the Rio Verde / Tonto Verde courses. The old Vista Verde course is excellent, but they changed the name in the past few years and I cannot recall what it is. You can also play Fountain Hills and then grab dinner in town.

Quintero in the West Valley is a Gem. The Sun City West courses are a great bargain. 4 regulation and 3 executive courses. Corte Bello, Union Hills all in the West Valley. Have fun and keep us posted.

If you can get on the best Private courses are: Estancia, Whisper Rock, Desert Forest, Desert highlands, Silverleaf, Desert Mountain, Scottsdale National, and Troon Country Club (not to be confused with Troon North. The best public courses are Troon North Grayhawk TPC Kierland and Quintero if you don't mind a drive
  9. Just got back from my Arizona trip yesterday. We played 5 courses in 4 days and here are my rankings:

    1. Troon North (Pinnacle) -incredible views and mint course conditions
    2. Grayhawk (Raptor) -great clubhouse, good views, challenging greens
    3. Estrella - bit of a hike but fun course
    4. Longbow - well kept and solid layout
    5. ASU Karsten - nothing special, good greens
