I am interested to hear what my fellow TT members think about the Ryder Cup. This week will be all about the competition and who is going to win. Europe or the U.S.

Myself - I think Europe has the best chance to win. There are some hot players on the U.S. Team, but in the end I believe Europe will prevail and keep the cup on home turf.

Who do you think will win ?

    Hey Darius,

On paper, Europe has teh stronger team.  with a higher average world golf rankings.  However, unless I remmember poorly, Europe was also favoured to win in 2012.  Yes, they did win, but it took a miracle.

The matches rarely play out they way they should on paper.  Since you asked, I aslo think Europe will retain the cup.  I just hope it is close, and that there is amazing display of great shots for us to marvel at.  I hope the atmosphere is civilized and respectful.

    Regards,

I have no doubt that we will see some amazing shots. That is one of the great things about watching match play events like the Ryder Cup. The players are taking more risks than one normally sees in a four day stroke play event. A lot of all or nothing types of shots make for great drama !

I too hope the atmosphere is respectful (much like Phil's thumbs up last year when Luke made that long putt) but I fully expect a lot of excitement !

For the most excitement it would be great if it stayed close and every match near the end was both important and meaningful.

Even though I think europe will smash the US on the first day, I want to believe that the US can pull it off.

    USA USA USA USA !

Congratulations to the European Team for their great victory at the Ryder  Cup in Scotland.

Rory was not on point for the first two days, but certainly lived up to his #1 status on Sunday. I was particularly impressed with Patrick Reed from the U.S. to step in as a rookie and do so well. He is certainly one to watch over the next few years. G-Mac also stepped up and played a great game.

All in all - the European Team just seemed too much for the U.S. Team to pull it off. I think the Alternate Shot format put the nails in the coffin !

Darius I couldn't agree more.  The alternate shot did in the US.  There was some great golf played by both sides and both were true to the spirit and integrity of the matches.  I can't wait until they play it again in 2 years.
