Graham DeLaet Blog Post: A Memorable Trip
Posted: 22 October 2012
Well my year has all but come to an end. I am enjoying some much needed rest at home the next few weeks.
Earlier this month I went over to Scotland to play in what has to be one of the greatest tournaments in the world, the Dunhill Links Championship on the European Tour. It is played over 3 different courses, St. Andrews Old Course, Carnoustie, and Kingsbarns. There is a cut after 3 rounds and those who make the cut play Sunday again at the Old Course. I was able to make the cut, however I had a rough round on Sunday shooting even par and moving from around 30th to 50th. I was +4 through 8 holes that day, so I was able to fight back a little bit, but it was a disappointing day.
After the tournament, myself, a friend, and my Dad stayed an extra four days and played some great golf. We played Muirfield, Prestwick, Turnberry, and the Old Course. It was awesome to spend a day on the Old Course with my Dad. It was a really special Father-Son day that we will both remember for the rest of our lives.
For the rest of the year my plan is to spend some time in the gym, getting stronger and more flexible. I will start playing and practicing on a regular basis again probably around mid November - early December.
Thank you all for reading my blogs this year. I appreciate the continued support. Also, a big thank you to the guys at Titleist for all the support. I have been on staff with Titleist now since 2006, and I really feel like I am part of the Titleist family.
See you in Hawaii,
