Team Titleist is on hand at the first PGA TOUR event of the new calendar year, the SBS Tournament of Champions, where 32 players who won an event during the 2015-2016 season have hit their first shots and holed their first putts of 2017.

Titleist brand ambassador Justin Thomas is making his second consecutive appearance at this calendar opener, having punched his ticket by winning his second straight CIMB Classic title. Thomas fired a spotless opening round of 6-under-par 67 during Thursday's action at the Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort and he currently sits tied for 2nd, two shots off the pace set by fellow Titleist brand ambassador Jimmy Walker.

Earlier this week, in an exclusive interview with Joe Gomes, Titleist Director of Tour Communications, Justin predicted a strong showing, saying that the 7,411-yard, par-73 layout favors his style of play. BY THE NUMBERS: 2017 SBS TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS

This week at the SBS Tournament of Champions, Titleist is the top golf ball choice with 59% of players in the limited field trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball for their success. 

Titleist was also the top choice in the hybrid (T1-4) and irons (6) categories. Vokey Design Wedges topped the approach, sand and lob wedge (31) category and Scotty Cameron putters were the top choice in putters (12).
