In the championship match of the 2011 U.S. Amateur at Erin Hills, the two finalists relied on only one equipment brand for each and every shot: Titleist. Both the winner and runner-up, competing for the season's most prominent individual amateur title, trusted Pro V1x golf balls, Titleist 910 drivers and fairways metals, Titleist irons, Titleist Vokey Design Spin Milled wedges and Scotty Cameron putters to make their way through the match-play bracket.
By advancing to the U.S. Amateur final, each player received invitations to play in the 2012 Masters, as well as exemptions into the 2012 U.S. Open. The champion also received an exemption into the 2012 Open Championship.A total of 252 players in the 315-player starting field teed up Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls at Erin Hills, more than 10 times the nearest competitor with 24 and four times all competitors combined.Titleist was also No. 1 across every major golf club category, including: drivers (135); fairway metals (145); hybrids (100); iron sets (128); wedges (409); and putters (135).So far in 2011, eight of the nine USGA championships played have been won by Titleist golf ball players.Below is closer look at the Titleist equipment of the 2011 U.S. Amateur winner and runner-up.U.S. AMATEUR CHAMPION:Ball: Titleist Pro V1xDriver: Titleist 910D3 7.5º w/ C•3 SureFit Tour Setting (Mitsubishi Diamana Kai'li 70)Fairway wood: Titleist 910F 13.5º, B•1 Setting (Graphite Design Tour AD DI 8)Hybrid: Titleist 910H 17º, A•1 Setting (Graphite Design Tour AD DI 105)Irons: Titleist CB 3-5 (Project X 6.5)Irons: Titleist MB 6-9 (Project X 6.5)Wedge: Titleist Vokey Design Spin Milled 248•06º, 252•12º (Project X 6.5)Wedge: Titleist Vokey Design Spin Milled 258•08º (True Temper Dynamic Gold)Putter: Titleist Scotty Cameron Newport 2U.S. AMATEUR RUNNER-UP:Ball: Titleist Pro V1xDriver: Titleist 910D3 9.5º w/ C•2 SureFit Tour Setting (Mitsubishi Diamana Blueboard 73)Fairway wood: Titleist 910F 13.5º, B•2 Setting (Mitsubishi Diamana Blueboard 83)Hybrid: Titleist 910H 19º, D•4 Setting (Mitsubishi Diamana i'lima 70 Hybrid)Irons: Titleist AP2 4-PW (True Temper Dynamic Gold)Wedge: Titleist Vokey Design Spin Milled 254•08º (True Temper Dynamic Gold)Wedges: Titleist Vokey Design Spin Milled TVD58º, TVD62º (True Temper Dynamic Gold)Putter: Titleist Scotty Cameron Prototype GSS
I've played nothing but Titeist clubs and balls exclusively since 1958 and have no reason to change now. I love my Titleists.

VERY impressive! For the winner and runner-up to both be using Titleist throughout their bags is awesome. It'll be interesting to see how they do at the Master's, etc.. I wish them, and everyone else who competed in the US AM, the absolute best with their career(s).

im 14 years old and iv just started back at school after my summer of golfing , i went out for one last practice round last week with a pro v1 that i found previously that day. i started on the 12th hole, a 127 yard par 3. i stood on the tee with my pitching wedge and sent the ball wizzing through the air straight at the pin.t this resulted in my 1st ever hole in one, the ball bounced about one foot from the hole and straight in. this was my 1st time useing a pro v1 on the course and i plan on using them from now on :P happy golfing to all for the winter

Did anybody else notice the runner-up is only using 13 clubs? Why not add another wedge?

Tracy, count again. The runner-up has 14 clubs. In case you missed it, he had 3 wedges, 7 irons, 1 hybrid, 1 F/W, 1 driver, 1 putter = 14 clubs.

Thinking of switching from Burners to AP 1's. Anyone have any experience how they compare?

@Bryan F i have had the AP1's for 3 years and they have never let me down they have a nice ball flight, good spin, and i can control them pretty easily. I highly recommend them.
